For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller for personal data collected via this website and our marketing activities. For data we process on behalf of customers in connection with our platforms (e.g. AlertSpeed, IntegriQA), we act as a data processor—see section 12.

2) What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect on our website, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and your rights.

3) The data we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
   •    Identity and contact data – name, job title, company, email, phone.
   •    Enquiry content – details you include in forms or emails.
   •    Marketing preferences – your subscription and opt-in choices.
   •    Usage and technical data – IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, referral source, interactions (via cookies, pixels and similar technologies).
   •    Recruitment data – CVs, cover letters and interview notes, if you apply for roles.
   •    Platform account data – if you sign up for our services, we’ll collect account credentials and logs (covered at a high level here; service-specific notices may also apply).

We do not intentionally collect special category data (e.g. health, ethnicity) through the website. Please do not include such information in contact forms.

4) How we collect your data
   •    Directly from you when you submit a form, email us, book a demo, download content, or apply for a job.
   •    Automatically via cookies/analytics when you browse our site (see section 9).
   •    From third parties such as marketing partners, event platforms, or public sources (e.g. LinkedIn, Companies House) where lawful.

5) How we use your data (purposes and lawful bases)

We only use your personal data where UK GDPR allows. Our main purposes and lawful bases are:
   •    Responding to enquiries and providing information (legitimate interests: to operate our business and respond to requests; or contract if we’re taking steps at your request).
   •    Setting up and managing accounts/trials (contract).
   •    Sending relevant updates, event invites and marketing (consent where required under PECR; otherwise legitimate interests for B2B contacts; you can opt out at any time).
   •    Website analytics, performance and security (legitimate interests to run, secure and improve our site).
   •    Recruitment (legitimate interests; and legal obligation for right-to-work checks).
   •    Legal, regulatory and risk management (legal obligations; legitimate interests to protect our rights or pursue/defend claims).

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see section 11).

6) Marketing

We may contact you about our products, services or events. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails or by emailing privacy@darkskope.com. We do not sell your data.

7) Sharing your data

We share personal data only as needed and with safeguards:
   •    Service providers (processors) – hosting, CRM, email and marketing platforms, analytics, security, recruitment systems, customer support tools. They act on our instructions under written contracts.
   •    Professional advisers – lawyers, auditors, insurers.
   •    Group/affiliates and partners – for account support or co-hosted events, where appropriate.
   •    Authorities – where required by law or to protect rights, security or property.
   •    Business transfers – in relation to a merger, financing or sale, subject to confidentiality.

We require all recipients to protect your data and use it only for the stated purposes.

8) International transfers

We are UK-based but some providers or team members may be located outside the UK/EEA (for example in the UAE, US or Singapore). Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use one or more of the following safeguards:
   •    UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or UK Addendum to the EU SCCs,
   •    European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) (with UK Addendum where needed),
   •    Adequacy regulations/decisions, or
   •    Other lawful mechanisms under UK GDPR.

You can request details of the specific safeguards in place by contacting info@darkskope.com.

9) Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to make the site work, remember settings, analyse traffic and measure campaigns. Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the banner link.

We maintain a separate Cookie Policy listing cookie types, providers and lifetimes. Blocking some cookies may impact site performance.

10) How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected, plus a reasonable period to handle queries or legal requirements. Typical periods:
   •    Enquiry records: 24 months after last contact.
   •    Marketing contacts: until you opt out, then we keep a minimal suppression record.
   •    Account/billing records: 7 years after the end of the contract.
   •    Recruitment data: 12 months if unsuccessful (longer if you agree).
   •    Security and audit logs: typically 12–24 months.

We may retain data longer if necessary for legal claims or compliance.

11) Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to:
   •    Access your personal data
   •    Rectify inaccurate data
   •    Erase your data (in certain cases)
   •    Restrict or object to processing

   •    Withdraw consent where we rely on consent
   •    Complain to the ICO (see below)

To exercise your rights, email privacy@darkskope.com. We may need to verify your identity.

12) When we are a processor (our platforms and services)

For customers using our platforms (e.g. AlertSpeed, IntegriQA), we typically process personal data on our customers’ instructions and the customer is the controller. In those cases:
   •    Our processing is governed by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with each customer.
   •    We use sub-processors with written contracts and appropriate safeguards.
   •    Customers are responsible for providing privacy information to individuals whose data they supply to our services and for establishing a lawful basis.

Service-specific privacy notices may also apply and will be provided within the relevant platform.

13) Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including least-privilege access controls, encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, logging/monitoring, secure development practices and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, use or disclosure.

14) Children

Our website and services are intended for business use and are not directed at children. If you are under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), please do not submit personal data. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it.

15) Automated decision-making and profiling

We do not make solely automated decisions on website visitors that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Our platforms may include risk-scoring or profiling features for customers, but those are controlled by the customer (see section 12).

16) Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party websites, plug-ins or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.
