Alan Gardner

Alan is the Founder & Global CEO of Darkskope. His passion is to help businesses, teams and individuals achieve excellence through leveraging the power of impactful world class resilience, regardless of their size, background, sector or location.


Alan has extensive experience working in a number of high pressure, high risk military operational environments and training roles around the world.  He is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) and has completed his Certificate & Diploma in Company Direction through the IoD.  He is also an Associate Course Director for the UK Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College and served a full term of 4 years as Professional Issues Director on the National Board of Directors of the Emergency Planning Society.  He has also lectured on Emergency Planning and Business Continuity at Queens University, Belfast.


Other positions of note include, member of the National Project Board for the development of UK National Occupational Standards in Civil Protection, a member of the National Project Board for Non-Statutory Strategic Humanitarian Assistance Guidance for the United Kingdom and an exercise design lead for Exercise Watermark, the UK National Flood Exercise.  He has been invited as a keynote speaker and panel chair at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) on a number of occasions.
