DarkSkope Cyber Range
DarkSkopes' Cyber Range is an infrastructure with powerful capabilities to emulate real world networks. It allows participants to practise their cyber technology knowledge and skills. With complete decoupling of the Cyber Range from corporate network, DarkSkope Cyber Range provides the ability for users to work on realistic copy of a target network without the risk of carrying any operation on actual network.
How Does it Work?
Four teams are currently available – red (offense), blue (defense), white (session orchestration) and grey (background traffic/noise). Blue and Red teams have dedicated areas/rooms with machines to allow remote connections to the virtual user clients in simulated network(s). The backbone of the range is constructed with high performance servers which will be used to run simulated target environments, virtual clients for red and blue team activities, and grey team simulation.
For example, a copy of a corporate network in virtual environment can be simulated by the range
Large demonstration screens provide real time feedback of the session currently running. Statistics such as scoring, target network topology, events and triggers will be displayed as the session progresses.
Individual training or team based exercises are available. Chat systems between teams are available to coordinate tasks. White team controls the session using broadcast and personal messages to red team and blue team members. To make the session and environment more realistic, grey team activity is also present in the range. Normal users and background traffic within a network will be simulated to provide usual traffic that would typically exist on the network.
DarkSkope Cyber Range provides a variety of training capabilities for all individuals with varying levels of technical competence ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Additional scenarios can be made available for the use of red/blue team members, incident responders, security/malware analysts and business executives.
Advantages of Using DarkSkope Cyber Range
1. DarkSkope Cyber Range is part of a bigger test network infrastructure. Capabilities are available to connect presently used and future hardware into the range for simulation of physical components, such as ICS.
2. Remote connectivity, allowing creation of remote blue/red team to participate in the range. Users can simulate, attack/defend and practice on a copy of their own proposed network without being physically present at the range..
3. Work on environments that are realistic and similar your corporate network without risk of damaging the actual infrastructure in your organisation.
4. Misconfiguration or misuse of machines will not affect normal operation of a business. The solution will allow users to practice in a virtual sandbox environment which is completely isolated and safe.
5. Capability of resetting the virtual environment to provide a consistent starting point for a new session to be started.
6. Monitor events within the simulated networks in real time with network monitoring and incident response tools.
7. Real time feedback on how participants are performing via live scoring system.
8. Data from each session will be recorded and stored.
9. Clutter free demonstration area with good visual experience with wall mounted wide screens. Provides options to view live or recorded demonstrations.
